Housing Programs
The Brandenburg Housing Authority offers a number of assisted housing programs to accommodate a wide variety of needs. Below are some of the programs offered.
Federal Public Housing
The Federal Public Housing Program provides safe, decent, and affordable housing for eligible low-income families, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. Administered by local Public Housing Authorities and funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the program offers well-maintained rental housing while promoting stable communities and self-sufficiency.
Residents have access to professionally managed housing, maintenance services, and a variety of community resources. Eligibility is based on household income, family composition, and other HUD requirements. This website allows applicants and residents to learn about available programs, submit applications, access important documents, and manage their housing information online.
State-Aided Elderly/Disabled Housing
The elderly/handicapped housing program (Chapter 667) provides housing for qualified low-income elderly and low-income non-elderly handicapped persons with one or more physical or mental impairment whose impairment has been over a long and continued duration, andwho has been unable to locate appropriate suitable housing on the private market.
Stated-Aided Family Low-Income Housing
The family housing program (Chapter 200 and Chapter 705) is a state-funded program that aims to provide housing for low-income families in neighborhoods throughout the state. A family household is one person, or two or more people who live or will live regularly in the unit as their primary residence; and whose income and resources are available to meet the household’s needs, are related either by blood, marriage, or operation of law, or who have otherwise evidenced a stable inter-dependent relationship.
